This one was all about getting you in the mood for Halloween, with a mix of old and new, some more relevant than others, but all connected to candy makers favorite day of the year in some form or another. The Addams Family theme opener offered a chance to acknowledge the life and career of Vic MIzzy, who passed away recently at age 94. He composed music for a multitude of other TV shows as well as films, with perhaps Green Acres, another '60s TV program, the best-known of the bunch.

Another old-timer making an appearance on this program was John Zacherley, who recently celebrated his 91st birthday. He had a long career on TV in Philadelphia and New York as the host of movie series such as Chiller Theater, and Halloween was always a big deal for Zach. However, he made his biggets impression on me as a DJ on WNEW-FM in the late '60s and early '70s, when the station was a freeform flagship.

Here's another Addams Family-related piece: Ted Cassidy in full makeup performing the tune we heard near the top.
