Where the flame of
freeform radio still burns
You need to have a media player on your computer before you can listen to Lucky Dog Radio. You can go with the player supplied by Live365 (Lucky Dog's streaming provider), or you can use a third-party player. Because LDR streams in 64K MP3Pro stereo, some players will provide a better sonic experience than others. That's even true for Live365's own players, which are offered for both PC and Mac, and come with different listening packages that start at FREE and include varying subscriptions. The best thing to do is go to their Wiki page here, read through it and then choose the player and plan that works best for you.
Of course, if you want to keep it really simple, then iTunes is the way to go. That's because Lucky Dog is listed on the iTunes radio service. Accessing the stream is as simple as clicking on the Radio icon in iTunes, and then opening up the Eclectic menu listed there. Scroll your way down to the L's, and then click on Lucky Dog Radio. Then, in a matter of mere seconds, you will experience the absolute bliss that overtakes anyone who listens to the Dog.
A couple of things to be aware of: 1) iTunes doesn't support MP3Pro encoding, so depending on you're listening setup the sound may be a little lackluster; 2) the stream will not be commercial free. You can eliminate both of those situations by signing up for a Live365 subscription plan. For an explanation on how doing that helps Lucky Dog Radio, click on the How Can I Support Lucky Dog? link in the menu above.
